Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Swedish rockers Diamond Dogs have released 5 albums over the last 10 years in their native Scandinavia. Releasing a new album for the first time in the UK, this compilation covers their earlier material. There's a distinct nod towards fellow Scandinavians Hanoi Rocks in their rock'n'roll, and some great moments here. Opener 'Sad To Say I'm Sorry' hints at Rod Stewart, while there's a touch of Rose Tattoo in 'Bite Off'. So yes there's an element of roughness to the vocals that suits the music well. The use of both keyboards and saxophone work well, and bursts of slide guitar make sure the rocks really do roll. Fading Way. 2005.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Overview, Excellent Band, November 25, 2007
While I would encourage anyone who ever loved The Faces to grab the complete catalogue of the Diamond Dogs (and Sulo's solos albums to boot), I understand that some of you on the wrong end of The Big Pond might be reluctant to pay import prices to take a chance on an album. Fear not - plunge ahead! You will be richly rewarded by finding a new favorite band! These guys carry the torch for Woody and Rod even better than the Crowes, Quireboys and Crybabys have.

Fading Ways is a solid label with its heart on its sleeve, so I'm glad to see they are behind this effort. Those familiar with their track record should be even more at ease...like having a trusted friend point to something in the record store and saying "that one's right up your alley, mate!"

Enjoy and play LOUD!
