5.0 out of 5 stars
5 Stars but a couple of caveats, July 30, 2006
Now that I have finally got this on my Palm and working, I love it. It's a thin piece of plastic, and it comes with a lint-free cloth and a cardboard applicator for clearing out the bubbles. The surface is clear as a bell and smooth as glass. The other screen protector I tried had a plasticky feel to it and slowed down the stylus.
The first couple of attempts at applying the ClearTouch somehow turned on the Keylock of my Palm and disabled the touchscreen. I actually thought my Palm was broken. Finally, I removed the ClearTouch screen protector and my touchscreen worked again.
I went through this procedure three times with the same results - painstakingly putting the screen protector on, working out the bubbles, turning on the Palm only to find the touchscreen wouldn't work.
I was on the verge of returning the product but tried a fourth time. This time, I just positioned the screen protector without using any pressure to eliminate the bubbles. It worked.
I also found it easier to use the lint-free cloth and my fingers to remove the bubbles, rather than the cardboard applicator. I could feel the bubbles well enough though the cloth to work them out gently with my fingers.
Another word to the wise: Buy this product either here or from another reseller who accepts returns and has good customer service. Don't buy directly from Boxwave. If you have any problems, you'll be glad you are dealing with someone responsive.
Boxwave sent me ClearTouch for the Tungsten T5, not the Palm TX I had ordered. It turns out both models have the exact same size screen, so they had sent the right item. However, there was no explanation of that in the package. It took close to a week to get a response from BoxWave. They don't answer their phone, ever, or return calls. They finally responded via email, but it took several days even for that.

fantastic piece of kit, June 2, 2006
this is my 2nd try at a screen protector for my palm tx. i tried the palm screen protector that came with my pda, but that was awful. this one, is better in every way.
first, this isn't a film, but more like a thin piece of plastic. the closest thing i could describe it as, is a thick transparency paper with a side that has the adhesion characteristics of a post it note. the added rigidity makes it fairly easy to lay down onto the pda screen. i was thrown off by this at first. the protector was protected on both sides with a thin film. at first i thought that one of the thin films was the screen protector! i guess that comes from my experiences with fellows and palm screen protectors.
the rigidity also makes it washable. i washed mine two or three times in my quest to get a perfect dust free application. something you can't do with other screen protectors. a side effect the rigidity has, is that any water droplets trapped underneath the protector are slowly squeezed out to the sides over time. amazing.
no tapping problems of any kind with this applied to the touchscreen as well. the "crystal screen" is quite transparent with no texture or finish to the surface to scatter light. the protector came well packaged with an applicator tool (small laminated cardboard card) and a small swatch of microfiber.
highly recommended stuff.

This is the best, October 12, 2006
I have tried several other companies' screen protectors on my Tungsten, and this is the best so far. I was amazed at the crispness of the handwriting recognition (this was a suprise to me, because the plastic is thicker than other companies, but the recognition is better). The smooth surface allowed me to write relatively fast compared to the friction on some other screen protectors. Also, the stiffer plastic seems durable, i've used it for about 2 months now and there is no wear in tear in the writing area or elsewhere at all.
(Examples of some others I've tried:
PALM's screen protector is awful, aside from cutting the right size (a minor issue), the soft plastic creats a lot of friction when I try to write and slows me down, has poor character recognition, and the soft plastic over the grafitti writing area was totally scratched up afer a couple of weeks.
FELLOW's screen protector that I had 4 years ago was fantastic, but the one that I got a couple months ago was useless. After I stuck it to my pda's screen, the pda didn't recognize ANY of my attempts to try to write or press the screen buttons. At first I thought my pda had froze, but afer several times resetting/re-installing my pda software, I realized it's the stupid fellowesscreen protector that rendered my pda useless. I already told Fellowes about this problem, so hopefully future versions of their product will be better)
