This dual sensor thermometer takes the internal temperature of a turkey in the kitchen oven or a pork chop on the barbecue grill-without even touching the meat. Simply point the top of the thermometer at the food item and the infrared sensor does the rest. If you prefer the old-fashioned method, a sharp stainless-steel probe on the side of the thermometer rotates down so it can be inserted into the desired part of the food, then rotates back into safe storage position after it's wiped clean. Both methods are extremely fast and accurate.
Compact enough to slip in a pocket or clip to a belt, the slim thermometer measures approximately 6 by 1 by 1-1/2 inches and comes with a long-life lithium battery. Handy features include a lock mode that continuously checks temperature for up to ten minutes; automatic power shut-off after 15 seconds; and scan mode that records the minimum and maximum temperatures of one food item. The LCD split-screen display is easy to read, and buttons are well-marked. A food guide to healthy cooking temperatures is included.
