Gets you there, but questions of durability (are resolved), August 29, 2006
The Royal Surfer works like a charm. I bought one for my wife, who had never had an orgasm before. Within 5 minutes of her first time using it, she had a great orgasm, and it continued to work for her after that. In terms of effectiveness, this product earns 5 stars (we used it a few times that first weekend, and my wife told me that was the best weekend of her life).
Since this is our first toy, I can't say if it is very durable. The first one we received in the mail from Amazon.com did not work at all (i.e., we put the batteries in and turned it on, but nothing happened - no vibration or rotation). We sent it back and got a new one (props for Amazon.com's customer service - they were great about exchanging it, and we received the free replacement before we had even sent back the defective one). The next one worked great for 4-6 months of using it a couple of time per week before the motor on the rotating shaft died (the vibrating function still worked). Though we have questions about durability, it's worth replacing a couple times per year if that's what it takes, so we ordered another one.
Also, since it's silicone, you don't get the strong rubbery smell that you get with the gelly items.
UPDATE 3 YEARS AFTER INITIAL REVIEW. We've had the replacement for three years now and it works like new. We had even bought a backup in case it broke down, but never did. We apparently got a dud the first time around, but I have no questions about durability anymore. So after a few years of use, definitely 5 stars (and I'm certain my wife would concur).

When my husband isn't there it's the Royal Surfer, January 9, 2007
If anyone out there has PSAS - this vibrator might help more than any other. I've found it to be the most helpful - none of the others helped me at all - it was just more frustration.
For women who are using a regular vibrator w/no clitoral stimulation, or no vibrator at all, and are having trouble reaching orgasm, you might try this vibrator. The clitoral stimulation is amazing, and this vibrator helps achieve orgasm. For women who've never had an orgasm, I'd guess working with this vibrator might get you to your first - it's just the best vibrator I've ever tried! For whatever reason...don't you deserve it?
I've read the reviews and can comment - this vibrator softens and gets more bendable with body heat. Sometimes the top (pink part) breaks from the bottom (white part), and needs to be carefully super glued (they are 2 separate pieces) after which it should work again. It's only happened once to mine, and then I learned to avoid holding it by the white part - hold it at the juncture of the white and pink part instead! ; )
Some might find it to be just a bit on the noisy side if noise is the slightest issue (kids, in-laws...), but people can work with it to make it work more quietly by moving the placement of their hands or fingers, or turning it down. Better yet, turn on some music, lock the door, and this item uses water soluable lubrication. We've found Liquid Silk to be very soft, very good, and never tacky (but it can be reeeeeally cold! So, be forwarned!).
UPDATE: I can't remember when I bought my first Royal Surfer - maybe 4 years ago. I ended buying another one last year so I'd always have one that worked. I tried some others - a waterproof, a smaller one, a "quieter" one, one that looked just like the R.S. - didn't like any of them - I'll stay with the Royal Surfer.

A Most Pleasurable Experience, March 19, 2007
This messager is absolutely wonderful! It takes you to places your lover can't even go. This was a wonderful investment and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to relieve some tension.
