Product Description

The Saudi Royals remain as mysterious as they are wealthy, and the family is riddled with scandals. Prince Bader al-Saud is currently in a US prison for manslaughter. Princess Hana Al Jader has been charged with importing slaves to her Boston mansion. And nine of the 9-11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. This documentary is a rare and insightful look into the life and business of Prince Alwaleed, the nephew of King Abdullah. Forbes lists Prince Alwaleed as the 4th richest man in the world... but where did all his money come from, and what does he do with it? Never before has any member of the Saudi Royal family allowed a film crew to document their activities, until now. Learn how Alwaleed became a part owner of Rupert Murdoch's Fox Network, Disney, Amazon.com, and more. Also discover why Rudolph Giuliani turned down Alwaleed's gift of $10 million for the reconstruction of New York after 9-11, causing Alwaleed to turn around and fund the Hamas with $100 million, with the tacit approval of President Bush.

4.0 out of 5 stars Uncovers what F-911 didn't tell you about the Saudi Royal family..., December 2, 2005
By Mad Max (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews

A very interesting film, which I didn't even know existed before I found it on Amazon.

Don't get me wrong - this was not a hard-hitting film like Michael Moore's. This was produced by a former CNN correspondant, so it followed more conventional rules of journalism.

He apparently had two goals in this documentary: to give a fair & balanced view of the Saudi Prince, and to get "behind the scenes" to show his personal & business relationships.

And this journalist was in a unique position to do this: he was allowed to follow & live with the Prince for a month (something Michael Moore or others would never be able to do). You will overhear private conversations with Rupert Murdoch & others, you will see the rest of the Saudi royal family, & you will see some pretty disturbing footage of the Prince with his (mostly American) entourage.

And, most alarming, it uncovers the *extensive* connections that the Saudi royal family has with US government & businesses. This man owns more of the US economy than any other individual in the world (including Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Ted Turner, etc). Alwaleed has financial ties to US media, to the Bush Administration, and to alleged Hamas terrorists.

The documentary just uncovers some of the hidden story - and leaves the conclusions to the viewer. The director goes overboard to be neutral & nonjudgmental (which is why I give it 4-stars instead of 5), and rarely even narrates. People who strive to be politically informed would probably want to see this rare footage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Saudi Arabian Prince Up Close and Personal, December 14, 2007
By Ed's Realm (Los Angeles, CA USA) - See all my reviews
In looking over the events that occurred during George W Bush's presidency, I stumbled upon mention of Prince Alwaleed. As one of the wealthiest men in the world, his response to the tragedy of September 11, 2001 was to offer Mayor Rudolf Giuliani $10 million for the Twin Towers Fund. Why would he do this? I decided to learn more about the man.

It was then that I discovered this wonderful documentary on DVD. It's a very personal look at the man as he goes about his fascinating life. How he spends his money and who he does business with are two of my personal favorite parts of his life. He cares very much for his people as well as the people of the world in general. He continues to fight for women's rights, improve the quality of education, and help reduce the plight of the poor.

If there's one thing you do this year, see this documentary! It will rock your world!
