5.0 out of 5 stars CLEANSING A PURE SOUL, May 7, 2006
Sango and the ever lecherous Miroku continue their journey into sacred Mt. Hakurei looking for Naraku, only to find legions of demons and his servant Kagura, the Wind Sorceress, ready to direct them away from their goal. Sango is incapacitated and Miroku can't use his Wind Tunnel, because if he does, Naraku's poison insects will also be sucked in, putting his life in danger. But does he have a choice? Inuyasha has his own problems. Even though he's only a half demon, the barrier around the mountain might kill him if he ventures too far into it. He finds himself facing one of the Band of Seven dangerously near the edge of the barrier that could purify him. And what's up with the Buddhist saint that is helping Naraku and maintaining the barrier? What's in it for him? Can his soul be put to rest before any of our heroes get killed?

This was a great volume of Inuyasha leading up to another confrontation with Naraku by all the lead and supporting characters. I almost found myself feeling sorry for the Band of Seven. Even if they enjoy killing. If they weren't so screwed up in the head, they would realize that they were given a second chance to live their lives. But they were relegated to doing Naraku's bidding. They should have spent their time trying to destroy him! There is a deep element running through this current storyline. Regrets from life carried into death. The dead refusing to believe that they have choices they can make with their new lives. And of course, revenge. Maybe Naraku should spend more time making friends?
