Kanta Mizuno, a.k.a. Sunabouza, roams the desert that was once the Kanta Plain of central Japan in search of adventure, money, and women, as the slapstick sci-fi adventure Desert Punk (2004) continues. He uses various ruses to defend a town's new well from marauders, but ends up stranded in the desert. The mayor's daughter rejects him, and his reputation as an ace handyman plummets. In episode 7, Sunabouza accepts the gawky Kosuna as an apprentice because she convinces him that she'll grow up to be a "hottie" with huge breasts. Kanta has all the bad qualities of Eikichi in Great Teacher Onizuka, but no virtues to balance them. He wastes precious resources, cheats, lies, and chases every female he sees. The sophomoric jokes and jiggle shots suggest that Desert Punk was created for hormonal, adolescent males.
