About the Actor
Charles K. Cowdery wrote, produced and directed the documentary "Made and Bottled in Kentucky." He is the author of BOURBON, STRAIGHT: The Uncut and Unfiltered Story of American Whiskey, and writes about American whiskey for The Malt Advocate, WHISKY Magazine and Nightclub & Bar Magazine. He is editor and publisher of The Bourbon Country Reader, the only publication dedicated exclusively to American whiskey. As a marketing professional, he has worked in and around the American liquor industry for more than 25 years, including nine in Kentucky.
Cowdery's other books include Blues Legends (Gibbs Smith), 20 profiles of notable blues musicians.
He does speaking appearances on both subjects, bourbon and blues, and conducts guided whiskey tastings.
Cowdery is a marketing writer for a variety of commercial clients, and an attorney. He lives in Chicago, Illinois.

Produced in 1992 to celebrate the bicentennial of Kentucky statehood, "Made and Bottled in Kentucky" was funded by grants from Kentucky Educational Television (KET) and the Kentucky Distillers Association (KDA). Originally broadcast in Kentucky by KET, it was distributed nationally by the Southern Educational Television Association (SETA), and aired on most public television stations in the U.S.
The DVD transfer was made in 2003 from one of the original Beta SP masters.
