Beyonce does not perform on this CD. This soundtrack is good and sounds good but the song performed by Beyonce in the movie and sounded so great is not on this CD. The rest of the CD is good and the Pink Panther Theme is up to standard.

In the words of Peter Sellers, this soundtrack is "tall, trendy, with a nice sexy head of teeth; otherwise, no." (That's an apt description of Beyonce, come to think of it). If it's a given that Martin's reprise of the Clouseau character was a dubious idea at best, so is Christophe Beck's attempt here. The theme itself (one of the most recognized pieces of music in the civilized world & a perfect example of modal jazz) was re-worked by Mancini himself no fewer than eight times. Many of those efforts far exceed what Beck has done. All of the Panther soundtracks otherwise contained considerable humour & subtlety entirely missing here. Mr. Beck is entitled to be his own man, of course, but he doesn't belong here. If the listener needs to be hit over the head with a soundtrack that would have been appropriate for one of Mussolini's rallies, then Beck is your man. Otherwise, this recording doesn't belong in the rack with the other six Panthers. Let's face it: Mancini & Sellers are quite dead; some things are better left in the can, 'cause ya can't go back.

This CD contains the whole score penned/arranged by Christophe Beck for the 2006 Pink Panther movie, featuring Steve Martin, Beyonce Knowles, Kevin Kline and Jean Reno. For movie score lovers, it's an absolute must: Beck wrote excellent background and foreground music, that fits nicely in the movie, adapting the original Pink Panther Theme by Henry Mancini where appropriate ("Paris Bound" is a good rendition).
However, buyers beware: this is a Christophe Beck movie sountrack album. There is no Beyonce (as pointed out before), and the first piece of music playing over end titles, known as the Malibu Remix of the Pink Panther Theme, is not by Beck, so you won't find it here - Pink Panther Penthouse Party being, to my knowledge, the only album containing it. Still, if you love the Pink Panther theme and atmosphere, this soundtrack CD is unmissable.
