Editorial Reviews

Product Description

AMB are picking up the axe of underground hip-hop, and running with it. The Underground has the most edgy, most emotional, most energetic music, and it's only hidden because it's worth looking for. It's music for the fearless, made by the ruthless, and it's drawing fans away from mainstream disappointments. The Underground exists because it needs to, and AMB are rapping 'cause they have to.

AMB self-produced seven albums in their native Denver, and established a state-wide following before they hooked up with Psychopathic Records. Guided by the Insane Clown Posse, and with the national impact of Psychopathic, AMB are cuttin' their way from the street to the spotlight.

This music can't stay underground. It's coming out with a fresh voice, a distinct mix of sounds, and an established, growing audience. It's got all the beats, cuts, and rhymes you could ask of rap, but it's got more than that. AMB have taken west coast gangsta rhythms, mixed them with heavy metal attitude, channelled them into R&B harmonies, and added a range of experiences from their work underground. It comes together with a fluid smoothness unique to itself. "Blood in" is what you thought you knew, and "Blood out" will be the brand new you. AMB are the new sound of the Underground, and they'll be sticking around.

5.0 out of 5 stars Demons they may hunt you but AMB got the funky s**t you can bump to., April 24, 2006
By John "Ira" (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
Not since the signing of Twiztid, has a new group on Psychopathic records excited me this much and we all know how they did, enough said. i like many followed AMB and the other acts through the contest Psychopathic records had last summer. They were my favorite since the start, so I went on Soulseek and downloaded two of their self released albums the ep "Underdogz" and the lp "The Unforgiven Forrest" I was TRULY impressed with both albums and I thought with the tactics of Psychopathic and their talent, they would be a combo that hasn't been seen since well....Insane Clown Posse and Twiztid. Am I saying ABM are good enough to be as good/big as these two. Yes, yes I am. Between their views and mc skills mixed with Psychopathic AND Mike E. Clark!? How can a Juggalo not dig AMB!? This album is full of ideas about how we all live our lives, the demons we face, the struggles we face, the things we all deal with and getting fed up with it. Mixed in with a good ole' sex s ong done juggalo style such as "Old Girl" with the debut amb single which pretty much will say to you "We take no [...], exspecially not yours." in "Scream Your Name" and the beautiful, thoughtful type closing song in "Honor" plus, Otis and Bonez Dubb has some good singing style, not like pop/R& type stuff. Mike E. Clark is back and on his A game. ICP/Twiztid/Blaze all make great guest spots. They flow together with AMB. This is just what Psychopathic needed. With the lose of the biggest name in acid/horrorcore rap Esham and the Juggalo favorite ABK. With two big losses AMB make up for them. I pray they don't get thrown off this label. They go in so well and I feel they can grow as musicians well here. THis is an album for any underground/horrorcore rap fan. You won't be dissapointed.

1. Blood In - (0:54) An intro that begins with a windy night, before AMB sing the intro/chant. Worth a listen, good for an intro. Get ready, the blood has just begun to pour. ?/?

2. Heatseeker - (2:25) A really violent song. Has a great keyboard type beat. They just spew pure hatred here. A truly good way to kick off an album. ICP both sing one line each in the chorus here. 5/5

3. Selfish - (2:47) Starts off with a spoken word intro that has been slowed down before a great bass line kicks in. Much slower than "Heatseeker" the first "AMB mind frame" song on the album. Has a Twiztid style rock flavor in it. 5/5

4. Scream My Name - (3:01) a GREAT song, first song of the album. The attitude will probably remind you of Twiztid's "We Don't Die" Otis really runs and kills here. His verse is slick. More well put guitar flavor in here. Bones has a slower verse but spits the same attitude as Otis. "When your stomache hurts in pain SCREAM MY NAME, when i control your brain, SCREAM MY NAME. I keep my karma at an all time ten. So, FU*K ALL YA'LL AND FU*K ALL OF THEM" 10/5

5. West Side Wicked - (3:32) A tribute to their west coast Denver roots. I love how they use the siren in the chorus, they avoid sounding cheesy. Just like the screechy door on ICP's "My Fun House" Hell, the chorus is one of the best here. 5/5

6. God Only Knows - (2:48) To call this song "creepy" is pretty much right. A song revolving around murder and the everyday stress of life that leads certain people to make such rash type decisions. A slower song. 5/5

7. Takin' It Away - (3:46) One of my favorites here, has an emotional beat. Another great chorus, classic horrorcore rap song. A tribute to living like a scrub and being proud of it. Also flowsm ore of their intelligence into it as well. About greed and money.

8. Old Girl - (3:40) Catchy beat and chorus make this a good pick for hteir second single. Great song. The classic Psychopathic/scrub nasty love song. Video is pretty funny. The only type of love song you should check out. Another great song. 5/5

9. All Day featuring Twiztid (3:31) Great singing by Otis here, I like the added violin in the beat. AMB with Twiztid is a great mix. Again, one of the best here. Jamie Madrox and Monoxide freak it here and show AMB the ropes Psychopathic style. 10/5

10. Chips 'N' Dip - (3:08) Usually electronic voices in music vex me but it isn't that bad here. Another scrub anthem. great outro. 5/5

11. Still Alive (3:00) A song about just being alive and not letting anybody kill your shine and getting up when knocked over. A song to listen to when feeling down. 6/5

12. Calm Down featuring Insane Clown Possse - (5:28) Wooh, what a devasting song, the kings with the princes type thing. The song feels like it has little direction (not a bad thing) and every schools it here. Everybody is on a high level and nobody can beat it. 6/5

13. Right Now - (3:14) A pretty mellow song, good but the one weak song here. 3/5

14. See Thru featuring Blaze Yaa Dead Homie - (3:22) They bounce back with a fast paced song with Blaze. The chorus describes how people act fake in this world. 5/5

15. Honor - (4:05) BEST song here, best message here, best verse, beat chorus. Everything is top notch, I love their singing in the chorus. A deep, deep deep song you really need to take a few listens to comprehend how great it is. The usual emotional closing song you would think you would find, well worth it. 20/5

So, to end this. If you love this label and these artists, there should be no doubt in your mind when you buy this. Enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelivable!!!, April 27, 2006
I was definetly looking for a new psychopathic cd to religously bump and i was not disapointed in any way, i ordered it off hatchetgear for 8$ and i would of gladly paid much more. Anyone out there hating on AMB is just thata hater who obviosuly is jealous of much they suck compared to these young kids who are etcheing a path in the underground next to frickin legends. I am looking foreward to trying to get a hold of there previous albums and explore them more as artists. They are definite Juggalos with outragous talent and who are repping the Fam to the fullet i recomend this album to anyone whose down with the fam listen with an open mind and dont judge an album by its cover Peace.

3.0 out of 5 stars ...and your point is?, January 18, 2007
By C. M. Payne (Maryville, TN, USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
When ICP began their career, people knew instantly that these guys were not typical rappers, and not typical rockers. ICP had a unique style and array of subject matter that was significantly offbeat, not to mention politically incorrect, cold-hearted, wicked, and seemingly pretty damn evil. As their style matured and the Joker's Cards continued, the Dark Carnival revealed itself more and more as something far more than it seemed....and so did the Insane Clown Posse. When Twiztid came out, alot of juggalos (myself included) initially thought that they would be a carbon copy of ICP. However, we all soon came to realize that Twiztid had their own sound, their own style, and their own things to say to the world. But....AMB (the Axe Murder Boyz) do not have their own things to say to the world. AMB's album is by far the laziest attempt at writing horrorcore rap that I have ever seen. To be quite frank, I would go so far as to call this "generic horrorcore". AMB has no gimmick, no ingenius styling, and in all honesty it seems to me that they don't have any real DRIVE to be doing this music, or at least none that I can see. But this album isn't that bad. It has alot of really funny songs and a couple of very meaningful ones. Problem is, it's just all been done before. And we all know it has. I suggest Boondox instead.

1)Blood In (N/A)--An acapella singing intro that makes no sense.
2)Heatseeker (3/5)--Ah, where I heard this before? Oh yeah, about 668 other albums. An anger-spewing opening song about killing random people. ICP both do a line a piece in the chorus. Also, this is just too damn soft for such a potential wicked track.
3)Selfish (3/5)--Not bad. About mankind's uncaring attitude towards it's evils. Not as deep as it sounds.
4)Scream My Name (4/5)--An excellent track, the album's "single".
5) West Side Wicked (2/5)--Reppin' their Denver roots. This song has an ANNOYING chorus with a crappy hook.
6)God Only Knows (4/5)--A creepy story about rehashed acts-of-evil. Scary, but unoriginal.
7)Takin' It Away (5/5)--I honestly really, really liked this song. About greed and money. Excellent.
8)Old Girl (5/5)--Hilarious Psycho Sex Song. Great beat.
9)All Day (2/5)--Ugh. Great chorus, HORRIBLE song structure. Not even Twiztid can save this track.
10)Chips N' Dip (3/5)--A very mainstream-sounding rap about women.
11)Still Alive (4/5)--"Don't worry, be happy". Great for what it is.
12)Calm Down (1/5)--AWFUL, and VERY stupid. ICP's guest appearance is possibly the worst track on the album, as strange as it may seem. What happened?
13)Right Now (2/5)--"lights up my car, like a disco bar." O-kay. And there's just too much HAPPY on this album.
14)See Thru (1/5)--Features Blaze. Short, odd, and lame.
15)Honor (5/5)--A positively beautiful song about living with honor. The highlight of the album.
16)Blood Out (N/A)--W.T.F. Weirdest intro/outros ever.
