Biography

Harlem native DukeDaGod, born George Moore, got his start in the music industry as a road manager for Children of the Corn, a group managed by Damon Dash that featured the pre-fame Cam'ron, Mase, and Big L. After the group disbanded, Cam'ron set up the Diplomat label and brought in DukeDaGod, who became vice president of A&R, working on the label's official releases as well as maintaining the… Read more in Amazon's Dukedagod Store

4.0 out of 5 stars if u havent already get with this movement, April 13, 2006
One of the most productive and experimental rap gangs out. This is a movement. Some people say they have just blown up in the past 2/3 yrs but the truth is they have been around for ever. they were harlemworld then had beef with mase. cam carried them 4 a while then when they signed with the rock it gave them more money to start bigger projects. so enter jim jones juelz and freeky zeeky. they already have the mixtape game on lock. and have 5 increadible mcs. lyricaly that are def ontop of the game. and if u like the clever doc suse rhymes cam spits then u can count 6 great mcs.

the new cd is mainly cam. there is one track with juelz on it and one track with jim jones. this cd give the spot light to the 3 less known mcs. but in a few yrs everyone will no them. hell rell, jr writer and 40 cal. all of these mcs are mixtape kings. the first dipset cd had maybe one or 2 appearances with these mcs. i think this was due to legal trouble but im not sure. diplimatic immunity 2 introduced them a little more but still stuck with the core of dipset cam, jimmy, and juelz. more then music shows them off a little more but they r still in the shawdos. this cd puts them in the spot light and show how talented the three mcs are. and there not riding anyone wave these mcs could be the best on a lot of other record lables.

there r a few thins that i think the cd lacked. one was s.a.s. from london. they are part of the set out of europe but are suprisingly real hard like the rest of the birdgang. if u r a fan u should check these guys out there sick. i also didnt like how they had alot of advritising for other cds on this one. it gave the feel of a mixtape. i no dipset does this all the time but this time more then usual.

the beats are tight. as always on a dipset cd or anything afiliated. the tightest track is 40 cal on Quiet sound. i love the way dipset experiments with different sounds. they do this in this song. i would have liked to hear more jim jones and juelz. but i understand y the others were on ther more.

this dipset thing realy is a move ment theyre not goin any were or changing. this gang is def hold ny up right now when it comes to sets or labels. and they just keep gettin better. so join the movement buy the album if this is the first time realy listenin to dipset buy diplimatic imunity 2 or basicly any dipset solo or calabo project. and if ur a dip fan then ur sleepin buy the album. its fire.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Diplomats Could Of Gone Harder On This One, April 11, 2006
By Miami Review "Ryan" (Miami, Florida) - See all my reviews
Overall the "The Movement Moves On" is an average CD. In all honesty it will not have an appeal to the masses of popular music. I feel like this CD is more rushed than "More Than Music, Volume 1" just for the reason it sounds like and alright Mixtape from Dipset. I expected more from the Dipset Crew. If they would've had more appearances from the other Dipset members such as S.A.S. (Mega and Mayhem), Un Kasa, Bezel, and Jha Jha. Also, I believe Juelz Santana ,40 Cal., A-Mafia, and even Max B. should've had better songs on this CD.

Here's a Rating of Each Song
1 - Y'all Can't Live His Life - Cam'ron - 2 out of 5
2 - White Girls - Cam'ron - 4 out of 5
3 - Grill Em (remix) - J.R. Writer feat. Cam'ron and Hell Rell - 4 out of 5
4 - War - Cam'ron feat. Hell Rell 5 out of 5
5 - I'm Laughin' - Hell Rell feat. Cam'ron 5 out of 5
6 - It's Nothin' (remix) - Cam'ron feat. Hell Rell 3 out of 5
7 - Poppin' Off - Hell Rell 2 1/2 out of 5
8 - Getting Money - J.R. Writer feat. 40 Cal. 3 out of 5
9 - O.G. - J.R. Writer 5 out of 5
10 - Losin' My Love - Juelz Santana 5 out of 5
11 - Frustrated - Jim Jones feat. Max B. and 40 Cal. 3 1/2 out of 5
12 - Worried - 40 Cal. 2 out of 5
13 - Quiet Sound - 40 Cal. 3 out of 5
14 - Gutta Talk - 40 Cal. feat. J.R. Writer - 3 out of 5
15 - We Ain't Going No Where - A-Mafia 3 out of 5
16 - Press Conference - Cam'ron N/A
17 - Funkmaster Flex Hot 97 Freestyle - Cam'ron, J.R. Writer, and Hell Rell 10 out of 5 - Even though this is a freestyle and it shouldn't be on a cd, this Freestyle is Bananas.

My favorite songs on this CD are White Girls, War, I'm Laughing, O.G., Losing My Love, and the Freestyle at the end of the CD. Those are my favorite songs from the CD, but the best song from this cd is Losing My Love. In this song Juelz Santana showcases his talent on making music quality. He points out the fact that all of the music out right now is just making him sick and how he is fed up with the "Boring Music."

Conclusion: If you want an alright Dipset CD, pick this one up. But if you really want some music with quality check out some of their songs from Mixtapes. On this CD, they didn't really show the people what type good, lyrical music they really can make.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dip Set, April 11, 2006
This CD is alot better than I thought it was going to be. Do NOT compare this to there last CD... this one is WAY better. Even the boy Killa is spittin like he just finished brushing his teeth. Can't wait for Killa Season to drop. These boys are shaking up the whole industry right now. Peace.
