Editorial Reviews

Product Description
2 CD SET. Webb Pierce was one of the most popular honky tonk vocalists of the 1950s, with more number 1 hits (13) in that decade than Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb and Lefty Frizzell. These raw Hillbilly and Rockabilly recordings from the 4-Star and Pacemaker labels are reissued here in their entirety, and undubbed form, for the first time on one CD package. This material will appeal to rock and roll collectors as well the legion of Webb Pierce fans who propelled him into one of Country music’s biggest stars of the Fifties and Sixties. ACROBAT.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best of the Good Honky Tonk Webb Pierce! , August 30, 2007
If you are a lover of good old honky-tonk from the 50's, this cd will not disappoint.

My husband and I love the old honky-tonk from the 50's, and it seems more and more nowdays most of the good stuff is on the Bear label. I bought this album for my husband's birthday, and we were both pleasantly suprised as this album was as good, if not better, than some of the honky-tonk out there on the Bear label.

We especially loved "Saturday Night." Faron Young did his famous version, and we were pleased to hear Mr. Pierce do his own rendition, too. He changed some of the lyrics, and they are actually quite hilarious.

Great album!
