A must have for the silent hill fan, September 6, 2006
Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I recently purchased this interactive movie and I must say I am very happy with it. Here are my pros and cons so you can make up your mind whether you will buy it as well:
Pros:
-Great material included inside.
-The comics were translated into video very well and come to life as you read them.
-The music picked out is great.
-The special hidden features are amazing, specially the extremely disturbing fuko video featuring the beloved pyramid head apparently "romanticizing" a fellow apparition.
Cons:
-It should have had more special features from the game.
-And it is a bit slow to load sometimes.
The one thing I do wish they had added is at least a narrator to read the comics, otherwise I think the silent hill experience is a great buy for any silent hill fan and a must have for any silent hill collector.

interesting... but be warned., August 1, 2006
Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
I've been a Silent Hill fan from the begining, so being the owner of a bright and new, shiny PSP, this purchase seemed like a no brainer after I did a little research on the item. It features the entire comic collection (similar to the Metal Gear Solid Graphic Novel on UMD), some select songs from the games' sound tracks, and some behind the scens stuff for the SH movie... but in the end, it just felt more like a seperate "special features" disk for the movie, rather than a special treatment for the Silent Hill series. The comics were, in my opinion, disapointing, having thin, nearly laughable, plots, poor characters, and very little to do with the Silent Hill mythos or the games. The behind the scenes features for the movie were interesting at best, but felt limited, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it all included with the DVD release of the lack-luster film any ways. The songs are the only redeeming feature for this title, but instead of including the collection of stunning soundtracks in their entirety, we are treated to only about four or five songs from each of the game titles. In short, this really is just a collection of the worst parts of Silent Hill, in my honest and unflinching opinion. Were I a new comer to the series and started with this, I would be hard pressed to pick up an actual game. I am praying that the actual portable "Silent Hill Experience" will be the release of the up coming Silent Hill Origins, but as for this title, for the hard core completists only.

Decent, but nothing really fantastic on here., September 3, 2008
Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this UMD at the same time I bought my PSP, because I was really just waiting for Silent Hill 0rigins to come out and needed something to do with my new toy in the meantime. I wasn't sure what this whole thing was about, but knew it had comics and videos. The extras are pretty cool actually, and I didn't pay much for it so I'd say it was an okay waste of cash.
When you arrive at the music menu, you can choose among 20 different music tracks from the games. Interviews with Akira Yamaoka and Christophe Gans are also on the disc. While I usually appreciate Lovecraft references, Whateley from The Hunger comic reminded me too much of Julian Sands in Warlock for me to take the character seriously. Silly looking guy with long blonde hair in a trenchcoat who magically disappears behind trucks. I am not impressed. Still, it's probably the best SH comic there is, not that it's saying much. It too me some time to warm up to the characters, and it's a totally over the top story, but it's okay.
The "hidden" videos were rather easy to find, a large X flashes on the screen. These are just the Fukuro and Kinoko videos.
Other than that, there is a large, pointless movie screen that hows images from the games. The whole menu are is Midwich elementary and you kind of zoom from room to room, which is kind of cool.
It's not a bad disc for Silent Hill fans, but there are all sorts of things I would rather have seen on it, such as old trailers.
