The unique coax mapping kit is a simple, cost affective way to locate and identify installed wires. The kit comes with 8 BNC identifiers which reduce work time by being able to do batch mapping. Not only is it a mapping unit but it will also test for open lines and shorts/continuity issues. It was designed to be used with coax lines, however, with the appropriate adapter you can test just about any pair wire cable including, RCA, BNC, F, phone lines, and others. Kit includes: 8 remotes identifiers, padded carrying case, BNC male-to-male adapter, 9V battery. One year warranty.

It comes with eight resistors in different measurements, but does not come with enough adapters. All of the resistors are BNC Female, which means to be useful, they either need a BNC Male to F-type Male, or the BNC male to male converter - of which there is only one. Most BNC wall plates use BNC Female connectors. At a minimum, you would want to purchase at least one BNC male to male cable (for the transmitter), to compliment the one provided in the kit. However - that doesn't help with the F-type connectors typically found on Coaxial cabling in the home. Expect to pay at least an additional $20 for accessories (which are apparently not available currently from the manufacturer site) Other than that, the unit works just fine.

Thtis product is great... it saves time when you are going into a house with multiple cable openings that you need to map out. the only problem i have with this product is that the connectors arent the standard screw on connectors they are a twist lock (not sure of the official name) so i had to make whips (using special connectors) to be able to connect them to a screw on connector. Works great for the price.
