Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

Specifically made for women, with its lightweight and slender design, this all-in-one heart rate monitor and sports watch by Reebok uses a patented method called "pulse technology" to measure the electrical pulses sent out by your heart each time it beats. Of course, the amazing part is that it works by finger touch rather than the cumbersome chest strap used by most other heart monitors. Within four seconds of touching the sensors on the watch, you can get not only an accurate heart rate reading, but also the number of calories burned during your workout.

The monitor has a programmable heart rate zone with audible and visual alarms to alert you when you get out of zone, plus a settable alarm if you have a maximum rate you should not exceed. Made from durable plastic and fully water-resistant, the device also features regular watch functions, plus a 100-hour stopwatch and countdown timer. It comes with a complete walking and exercise guide and one-year warranty.

About Reebok
Reebok's United Kingdom-based ancestor company was founded for one of the best reasons possible: athletes wanted to run faster. So, in the 1890s, Joseph William Foster made some of the first known running shoes with spikes in them. By 1895, he was in business making shoes by hand for top runners; and before long his fledgling company, J.W. Foster and Sons, developed an international clientele of distinguished athletes. In 1958, two of the founder's grandsons started a companion company that came to be known as Reebok, named for an African gazelle.

Product Description

This Reebok strapless heart rate monitor is one of the smallest on the market and allows the user to get accurate heart rate without having to use a chest belt.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Product with one drawback., June 6, 2006

I recently purchased this product and was dissapointed that it doesn't continuously take your heart rate. You have to push down on the two silver buttons above and below the screen with your index and middle fingers to get a heart rate reading. If I would have done my research beforehand I wouldn't have been surprised at this, I know.

Anyway, now that I have it I am pretty pleased with the product.

The pros of this product are as follows;

I really like not having to wear a chest strap transmitter.

I like that it is slightly "girlier" looking; I have the blue model, and I like it better than my very basic, big clunky Polar model.

I like the calorie counter.

It is as accurate as my Polar model with the chest strap; I used both watches during my last workout on my elliptical machine, and everytime I took my heart rate with this watch it was usually within 2 BPM of my Polar Watch. At the most, a few times the difference between the watches was 4 BPM.

The only drawback to this product in my opinion as I've mentioned before is the fact that it does not automatically and continuously take your heart rate. Once I get used to that I think I'll really enjoy this watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this thing, February 9, 2007
I waited until the heart rate monitors that didn't require a chest strap were affordable to buy one (they were $300 at one point, and CLUNKY). This one is tiny (relative to other models, i.e. the polar) and I'm very impressed. It takes about 2 -3 seconds to measure your heart rate, but it's very accurate. I like the calorie counting feature, too, although as the computer never asks you your weight it is probably making the calorie - burning calculaltion for a "standard" weight, i.e. 150 pounds. You have to make the adjustment (if you weigh less) yourself.
Surprisingly easy to use, too! I am hopeless with these things but this one is intuitive. I daresay I didn't even bother with the manual (does anyone?)
Great product, and a very good price for what you get!

3.0 out of 5 stars chipwell, January 3, 2007

I liked the idea of not wearing a strap while working out, but in reality they are better. This one works fine, no problem there. But in the middle of your cardio routine you have to stop enough to use the two fingers from your free hand to press on the watch you are wearing and it takes a few seconds (5) to give you the read out. By then your heart rate is already starting to go down. If you want real accurate measurements and you want them at a glance...the strap is the best way to go. You just have to look at the watch to know where your heart rate is.
