Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com
He's got a liquidy voice, the looks to go with it and, at long last, a permanent lock on adulthood (21--get it?). But unlike another former boy-bander who hit the bigs with a well received solo disc, he's not hell-bent on bringing sexy back: 21, like O before it, traffics in funk-ribboned, vaguely Michael Jackson-ish club joints ("Entourage," "Do It," "Obsession") and a handful of sincerity-dunked slow jams ("Just Can't Let You Go," "Have You Ever Been With a Star"). But its chief concern seems to be putting across its creator's gift for getting heads bobbing. That's not to suggest that the newly mature Omarion is lacking in the ladies' man department--look no further than "Midnight," "Just That Sexy," and the craftily assembled lovers-from-friends number "What Are We Doing" for pulse-raising proof--only to point out that for him, raciness takes a back seat to bumpin' beats and a vibe that's borderline playful. A choir boy he ain't, but here's betting your mother will like him more than Timbaland and Timberlake. --Tammy La Gorce

Product Description
UK pressing of the sophomore album from the R&B star features two bonus tracks: 'Making Of You' and 'The Truth'. After his debut solo album O soared to the #1 spot on Billboard's Top 200 Chart, it was solidified that Omarion was a force to be reckoned with. Now at age 21, Omarion's growth, maturity and depth are showcased on his sophomore effort, aptly titled 21. With contributions from producers like Timbaland (Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado) Pharrell, Bryan Michael Cox (Usher), every song shows how Omarion is not a kid anymore. 14 tracks. RCA. 2007 --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars more 2 offer this time, March 4, 2007
As much as i enjoyed O's first CD. 21 is definetely more grown up and mature than his previous effort. At first i wasn't really into "Entourage" but the more i listened to it. The more i got a feel and enjoyed the song more. It has like a 80's vibe to it hard to explain but i'm feeling it. Also love these tracks below in no order:

Ice Box (just that good)
Made For TV (nicely done slow jam)
Just Can't Let You Go (the beat won't let you go)
Midnight (one of favs on the cd overall, vocals and everything just bring it together)
Just That Sexy (i just enjoy this one)
Do It (again a nice beat and vocals)
What Are We Doing (a nice closer)

to a cd that brings much more to the table in the way of a more grownup feel to it. Also with Omarion writing songs 1,2,3,7,8,10,11 and 12. He's bringing it with more input to the songs he's singing and its very evident. Looking forward to what Omarion brings to the table on his next cd but for the time being 21 will do very well for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great job, December 31, 2006
A Kid's Review
Gotta give O is his props on this one, i'm very impressed by his second album it shows how much he has grown as an artist altough he ain't there yet it's really a big improvement from his last album. Cuz this time around he's working with better producers like Timbo and The underdogs, he wrote more songs by him self and his voice sounds a bit stronger.
I think these three things make the album to what is, we all know that O ain't a fantastic singer but you will forgive him for that once you've heard songs like the briljant Ice box, midnight, Just that sexy and Do it. The only song I don't like is Been with a star it sounds so unreal to me cuz of it's wack lyrics and to be honest I don't think O is already a star yet he still got a long way to go, the album should have been better of without this song!. My conlusion: 21 is a very good Rnb album and better then most albums I hear these days, It might not be perfect but it's the type of album you will listen to over and over again once you like it, the dude has done a great job on 21 on a scale of ten I would give it a 8 but since that ain't possible on amazon I will give it a well diserved 5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent album, January 1, 2007
By Jasabena (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews
"21" is a very grown-up and mature project. Omarion shows his audience a more vulnerable side by writing on things that he, himself has experienced. The album will make you move with tracks like "Electric", "Entourage" , and "Beg for It".It also shows a smoother side with "Do It" and one of my favs "Midnight". Working with amazing producers like Timbaland, Pharrell Williams , The Underdogs and new comer Eric Hudson has definitely paid off for Omarion. He is letting the world know that he's not a bubblegum popstar any more. He has branched off and became a solid chart topper. I recommend this album to everyone who loves feel good music!
