Visionaries - We Are The Ones (We've Been Waiting For), October 31, 2006
The Visionaries newest release We Are the Ones (We've Been Waiting For) is a must get for any true hip-hop head. With DJ Rhettmatic, 2Mex, LMNO, Dannu, KeyKool, and Lord Zen join together you CAN NOT go wrong! They have all proved their skills in their stellar soulow projects and past three releases together as a group in a whole.
I was happy to purchase the new release on the release date and I have been playing it since! Every song stands outs with awesome beats and lyrical content. The tracks I enjoy the most are All We Need, In The Good (SPRING VALLEY/San Diego, California gets some recognition in this joint, aha), All Right (J Dilla on the boards, a favorite), Do Gooders (with Georgia Anne Muldrow, another favorite with a nice beat, melody and flows), 1% (another favorite where the Visionaries are pulling wack MC's cards, Kev Brown on the boards), Lately (Music is a mission not a competition), The Moreye/Reprise (my second most favorite Cause you don't have to lose your soul to get that bank roll), School Daze (another favorite, everyone rips it on this track), Need To Learn (The posse cut with Madlib on the boards featuring Rakaa Iriscience (Dilated Peoples), Brother J (X-Clan), Sadat X (Brand Nubian), YZ and RBX, this by far is my favorite track, aggiN!!), Talkin' Handjive (showcases The Beat Junkies (DJ Rhettmatic & Shortcut) skills on the turntables) and finally the title track We Are The Ones ends the CD with you wanting MORE from Visionaries.
I like this effort as well as all their past efforts, cause Visionaries all shine equally on their albums and step the game up for all the other Wu-tang like crews and wack MC's! This album is by far better than anything that is mainstream and is worthy of radio airplay. I also enjoy this album cause it's fun with creativity expressed on all levels of the hip-hop game! Purchases this album, it will give you yet another chance to get into the lives of one the West Coast best groups ever, you will not be disappointed! SUPPORT AND ENJOY!

The Visionaries bring light and enlightenment, May 20, 2007
Several months ago, I was a know-nothing-about-rap-and-hip-hop kind of gal. Whatever I had heard contained only words like booty, bitch, ho', unh, and skank. Not inclined to that particular brand of masochism, I did not know when, or if, I would find a contemporary rap or hip hop group that appealed to me.
But then I saw a video of The Visionaries for their song "Pangaea" on a tv station in Austin and I was enchanted. They spoke of all people having been come from the same place, and despite the seeming separations, we are all still One, United. They themselves are 6 shades of skin color. The song had good beats and hooks.
The first album of theirs that I purchased was Pangaea. It was so gratifying that all songs on the album are from the same feeling--striving, living, loving, and having purpose in one's life.
Next, I purchased the cd entitled, "We Are The Ones We've Been Waiting For" and am so pleased. I love The Visionaries.
They rock, simply. The positive message is above and beyond anything else going. Try out the samples and see, and then get it because you'll like it.
