The first, and last album (as they broke up before the tour for the album started) of this "indie rock with Irish folk-punk elements" band (so basically a rich man's Flogging Molly) contains songs about:
1)Transvestite prostitution
2)Eccentric director/author/actor/crossdresser Ed Wood (Sometimes called "the worst director of all time")
3)Burning down the door of Parliament
4)Going for an innocent stroll through a field that results in finding a little girl who happens to be a rape victim and dead (somehow this happens to be the happiest-sounding song on the CD)
as well as a few tender, sincere, sentimental songs that balance things out.
And there is a fair amount of cowbell.
[Plus, there's a 2 and a half minute hidden track before the beginning of the first song if you hold down rewind. It's always fun when artists hide stuff on CDs because you feel smart when you find it.]

Imagine the Clash meet the Pogues and you'll have a good idea of who Larrikin Love are. A London-based band with an Irish flavor, their songs are catchy and infectious, and the folk instrumentals, with fiddle and Irish drum and excellent guitar work, add a lot to the overall sound.

It's a shame that only import editions are available, so it's hard to recommend them at this price. If you can latch on to a cheaper used CD, I would recommend that. They are definitely worth a listen.
