4.0 out of 5 stars Review of Patio Thermometer (Timex), March 8, 2007
By Robert Hanks "bob_hanks" (Redondo Beach, CA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a well-made and constructed thermometer for inside use, but given our cool, damp climate in a southern California beach city, is a little impractical and not quite sturdy enough for outdoor use. It is a very good looking and sensitive instrument that fits well with almost any decor. Recommend for interior use in cool, wet climates, and outdoor/indoor everywhere else.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good visibility BUT NOT MUCH ELSE! Downgrade to 1 star, March 8, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a good looking thermometer you don't have to squint to see - best value for the price. I PURCHASED THIS IN THE SPRING AND WHEN SUMMER CAME IT WOULD NOT REGISTER ABOVE 85. BY THAT TIME AMAZON'S GUARANTEE ON DEFECTIVE GOODS HAD CONVENIENTLY [FOR THEM] EXPIRED. BUY ANOTHER BRAND AND HOPE IT WORKS BECAUSE AMAZON COULD CARE LESS.

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money!, September 7, 2008
This thermometer looks great but does not work. Oh, it might tell you the temp if you have hours to wait on it. When I first started using it I thought that it was broken because it didn't change. I held a hair dryer to the back of it and it moved. If you were to say, bring it in the house from being outside in 90 degree temperatures and your room was 72, it would take it 2-3 hours to start moving down. A snail moves at lightning speed compared to this thing!
