4.0 out of 5 stars A Dream Indeed, July 7, 2007
By Sui Generis (San Francisco, CA USA) - See all my reviews
Featured exclusively at the Wynn Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Le Reve is a mesmerizing above- and underwater spectacular ą la Cirque du Soleil.

The soundtrack to accompany the show is good, but I wouldn't call it great. About half of the CD leaves little impression. But there is a range from reasonably decent songs ("Between the Lines," "The Tree," "Chapel," and "Against the Moon") to CD standouts ("Eden," "Dreaming" (though the lead sounds as if he strains too much to reach the upper register at the end of the song), and the opening "Overture", which does a fantastic job of setting the tone for the rest of the CD).

If you're into Cirque du Soleil soundtracks, I'd say that Le Reve is better than "Dralion" or "Alegria," but not as good as "Quidam" or "O."

5.0 out of 5 stars Echos of a dream, March 31, 2009
I must say that when I saw the show in '06 the music was so hauntingly beautiful that I, too, purchased the CD afterward. It was the first Cirque du Soleil (though it isn't officially CdS) show that my brother & I had seen & we both LOVED it. The music itself sets such a haunting tone that is inescapable. I listen to this CD very often to help get me into a calm state of mind when I need to study or just relax. The "Samurai" track, for instance, is rather reminiscent of the Ka soundtrack - or the feel of some of the tracks, anyhow.

Here it is 3 yrs later & I am listening to it right now recalling parts of the show. While it does have its low points it is overall a VERY satisfying purchase. It was because of this soundtrack that I began to collect the CdS soundtracks. Benoīt Jutras had a hand in the Mystčre & O music as well, btw.

5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT SOUNDTRACK!, December 25, 2006
2 REVIEWS THAT I'VE FOUND ON THE INTERNET FROM OTHERS.

#1.: Having seen this show in August of 2005, I was amazed at the music and ran from my seat the the Wynn Show Shop for a CD. Unfortunately it wasn't released until my return in Dec. 2005. This CD is amazing, emotional, rousing and beautiful. I highly recommend seeing the show first, but this recording stands alone, too.

#2.: I saw the show a few weeks back and bought the soundtrack afterwards. I think I have listened to it 25-30 times since then (on the road alot) and am moved emotionally each time. I try to remember what was happening during the show when I hear certain songs. If there was a score higher than a 10 on here, I would give it that!! :-)
