5.0 out of 5 stars Easy, vivid, FUN!, July 24, 2007
By Lauren Clack (CA United States) - See all my reviews

This program came with my astronomy book I bought for my college class. The professor didn't require it's use but recommended it and being that I'm majoring in the subject, HAD to try it out.

It is so awesome! It's easy to use. The graphics are amazing. You learn so much and even if you have no knowledge of the stars or planets and you live somewhere that you can't easliy access a telescope, this is the best program to use to learn more about such an interesting subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful night sky, January 3, 2008

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have always enjoyed looking up at the night sky but I couldn't identify very many stars or planets. With Starry Night Complete Space & Astronomy Pack I have solved my problem. It will show me what the sky will look like before I go outside. It names the stars that I am trying to locate. In most cases it will even give me the proper pronunciation of each star. I have learned how to go forward or back in time to see what the sky will look like when I'm on my next vacation or what it looked like on the night that I was born. Love the program and recommend it for any amateur astronomer.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as Red Shift, September 17, 2007
By D. Fairchilds (Northern California) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Not as good as the old Red Shift software from 1995. This product is cumbersome, not even a little intuitive, and lacks on screen pop-up windows to identify functions of icons. There is a lot of fluff included, but precious little substance. When I emailed the company complaining of the fact that menu items in my edition were non-functional or non-existent I received a luke warm response stating roughly... "too bad". The one and only nice touch is it's ability to track and present major satelites... the rest of the graphics are marginal and clutter the screen.
