Product Description
After failing his examinations, Sendo Kazuki spends his days aimlessly until his childhood friend, Taishi, drags Kazuki into the world of fan comics. But this harmless diversion soon becomes an obsession as Kazuki is drawn further into the otaku scene. In the dog-eat-dog world of fan comics, you need more than talent to reach your dreams!

3.0 out of 5 stars GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS.....AND GIRLS, March 14, 2007
Chisa's print shop is the backbone and glue that holds together the doujinshi community. If she didn't print Kazuki's comics how could his work get out to the public? Her importance is about to be recognized as her father is struck down by an unknown illness and she ends up trying to run it by herself. We all know that Chisa can't even push a cart by herself, much less run a business. This first episode is ostensibly the only one that reminds me of the first run of this show since it deals with comics. The other three are stereotypical anime storylines that could have been written for any comedy involving one guy and a ton of girls. Only the names would have to be changed. First up, there is a tennis tournament among all the girls, who of course are dressed in suitably short skirts. Then, a hot springs episode in which you know the guys are somehow going to knock over the fence that seperates them from the female baths. Finally, the whole gang goes on a camping trip, end up getting lost and are forced to play war games with some laser tag otaku.

Comic Party Revolution is an scarecrow anime in search of a soul that was written to satisfy fan demand with no intention of furthering the stories of any of the characters. It's mostly composed of rootless episodic content with no larger picture involved, like a string of filler material. There were some funny moments but I was hoping for a continuation of the first season, not a collection of random creative mumbling. If you are a fan of Comic Party, you might get a bit of enjoyment here but don't have high expectations. I would recommend reading the Comic Party manga from Tokyopop instead.
