HitchSafe Key Vault is designed to store up to 9 spare keys, credit cards and driver's license. It features a solid metal construction, which is secured inside a 2" hitch receiver with a drawer that lets you set various combinations. This Key Vault includes an attractive dust cover and comes with an easy installation.The 2005-2008 Toyota Tacoma's and the 07-08 Tundra OEM Hitch Receivers require optional longer pins. The HitchSafe fits all other makes & models to include RVs, all OEM and all aftermarket hitch receivers.

Please see the below comments from the manufacturer of the HitchSafe:

The HitchSafe takes only seconds to install and uninstall with no tools required. Some users will leave it in all the time, others take it in and out (easy to do) for outdoor activities so they don't need to hassle with or lose keys.

The chrome pins have randomly experienced rusting in the past and we have since then gone to Nickel Cadmium which were far superior in salt spray tests.

Moisture- the HitchSafe has compressed gaskets protecting the pin holes and the Vault portion and has a snug dust cover. The last barrier to moisture is the drawer itself whereby the water must climb the drawer wall into the contents of the drawer. The HitchSafe is not water proof (submersion - backing into a lake as an example) but is water tight.

Credit Card- The HitchSafe will fit up to 2 credit cards and a license. Note: there is a notch on the upper right of the vault and lower left of the drawer in order to fit the cards. The cards must be angled to the right (not the left) to fit.

Replacment Dust cover, including shipping can be purchased from HitchSafe for 9.95.

Price- $29.95 mentioned by prior buyer. WOW! WE WISH!! The HitchSafe is solid metal and not a plastic, cheap product. It consists of many components such as the dust cover, two bolts, the 10,000 combination drawer and the vault portion with the interlocking metal bars. Sorry we can not do the impossible and sell it at $29.95 :-).

Works well if you never need to remove to use your hitch very often. Water leaks into compartment,might rust over wet season. Extremely overpriced. Availability of replacement (and cost) of rubber cover unknown. When they tweak the design and lower the price to $29.99 it will sell like hotcakes.

The hitchsafe quickly installed in the hitch, and the combination was quickly set. Keys fit in fine, but a credit card had to be bent a little to make it. After three weeks of driving through rain, the pins that fit into the receiver have started to rust. It works great for what I wanted - a secure place to put extra keys.
