More dance floor oriented, this new album reflects the energy that the band reveals on stage with a "punk-funk" groove close to its original music roots.
Founded in 1999 by the Sumi brothers (ex-members of Swiss Cheese Connection), Sumo today stand as one of the hottest producer duos from Switzerland, creating some of the most funky electronic music every heard. Their music is always funk/hip-hop influenced, always very warm and soulful, and yet crafted with digital tools.
The brothers complement each other well: Fred is a bass player, composes, produces and mixes the music. Alex the guitar player, sings, writes the lyrics, and also performs as a DJ. From 2000 to 2004, they released on their own label Chiz Records, four vinyl EPs and their first album Before The Sun supported by international press and DJs (Gilles Peterson, Jazzanova) as well as various tracks on international compilations such as Fashion TV, In House We Trust 4 and The House of Yo released on Yoshitoshi.
