I love the diversity of songs on this album. My favorite track on this CD is Over My Head by The Fray. I love the beat of this song, and I think the piano playing is excellent. Put Your Records On is a light soothing track from talented British singer Corrine Bailey Rae. This song makes me want to kick and relax. Another highlight on this album is Jesus Take The Wheel by Carrie Underwood. I love her beautiful voice. Black Horse and Cherry Tree by KT Tunstall just makes me want to get up and dance. Be Without You is a heart wrenching R and B love song by Mary J. Blige. Save Room is a very smooth R and B love song from John Legend. Waiting On The World to Change is an excellent track from John Mayer. I love his vocals and guitar playing on this track. I'll admit that some of these tracks like Bad Day and You're Beautiful are a bit overplayed on the radio, but I still enjoyed this CD very much.

I buy real cds as opposed to downloading them on services online because real CD's don't have the "unhearable" sounds filtered out by the MP3 type compression.

For some reason it sounds like this CD was made from MP3's. The bass just isn't as clean and as present as it is on a few of the original CD's I have of the artists I have from this CD. Not sure what's up with it.

Grammy is back and better than ever with this 2007 CD. Or at least this is the best GNCD in the past two or three years. [...] Luckily this time around we got some favorites here. There's Gnarls Barkley aka Cee-Lo. Totally different from anything that was on CHR airwaves last summer. No doubt "Crazy" is worth nomination. Mary J. Blige (or queen of Soul/R&B) is featured with "Be Without You". Not my favorite song of her's, but then again most of these nominations are for the artist and not quite the song. Macy Gray alike Corinne Bailey Rae is picked with her jazzy hit "Put Your Records On", and laid-back John Mayer gets his guitar on and gives the world the middle-finger in a peaceful way with "Waiting on the World to Change", even though that's one of my least favorite tracks by him. For some reason he changes up his voice for that certain track. Otherwise, rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers get some nod's, along with over a decade old Dixie Chicks with their wanted return single "Not Ready to Make Nice", and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood with "Jesus Take The Wheel". Also long time artist Sheryl Crow makes the Grammy cut once again. And for some artists that have changed their style up a bit, there's Christina Aguilera with the catchy jazz-swinger "Ain't No Other Man", and other pop acts include the UK-diva Natasha Bedingfield with the soft-pop hit "Unwritten". Not to mention newcomer to the music game K.T. Tunstall is featured with her pop-country single "Black Horse & The Cherry Tree". We've also got two similar male soft-pop artists James Blunt and Daniel Powter, both with catchy tracks of "You're Beautiful" and "Bad Day". Also three soft alternative bands make the cut; and those would be The Fray, Death Cab for Cutie, and Keane. And for some solid R&B you can look up "Save Room" by John Legend or "Stickwitu" by Pussycat Dolls.

For the most part this disc is pretty solid if you're looking for a good overall few of 2006. Only two songs cross my mind and those would be first "My Humps" by Black Eyed Peas. Yes, a catchy number indeed, but what more does it have than Fergie's humps and a will.i.am production? And Justin Timberlake was huge this year, but I've never found myself enjoying "SexyBack" one bit. As a matter of fact my favorite single of his so far is the mellow "What Goes Around Comes Around", maybe they couldn't find the radio edit in time. To replace those cuts, Lupe Fiasco or Prince would've work fine with me. But still, a good solid disc of what 2006 had to offer, and its much more solid than the past few dissappointing discs. 4 stars.
