3.0 out of 5 stars Weak single and CD, March 22, 2008
By Weather Warden <3 (Auckland, NZ) - See all my reviews
Don't get me wrong, I am HUGE Girls Aloud fan (as you can tell from all these reviews), but I think this release was a mistake. Not only did they do another cover, but they messed with the great original version from their Greatest Hits album! It was fine before they redid it. We get another b-side, but it's not stellar.

Rundown:

01. I Think We're Alone Now [New Mix]
This version is really bad compared to the one on the GH. Everybody I know loves this version, which is more dancey, compared to the original, which is more poppy. GA are a pop band, so the poppy version is a LOT better. The girls don't kill the song but it's definitely not one of their better covers or songs, for that matter. (3/5)

02. Why Do It?
I like most of GA's b-sides, but this one? Not so much. Nadine leads this song and while I like her, this song just isn't good. It's about a rebellious girl, a theme that has been done before. And it has really silly lyrics, the whole end part of the song is "boop da boop boop ba boop da boop" over and over. Not one of GA's better songs, that's for sure. (3/5)

So overall, this 2 track is quite weak. Yes we got a b-side, but not a good one. 3 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Taking a risk, February 17, 2007
This item is hard to review, as I ordered it yesterday, and have only heard the tracks on youtube so far. I hope that "I Think We're Alone Now (New Mix)" is the widely distributed track, not a remix. As for the b-side, "Why Do It?" is a gem. I have sampled it nonstop on youtube, as well. So I hope I get what I'm expecting! Both songs are pure pop, something to sing and dance to.
