5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, May 9, 2007
By Mrs. Kitty (W.P.B., Fla USA) - See all my reviews
This fan puts out quite a bit of air for its size and it has multiple settings.
The only thing I dislike is that its a bit heavy when hanging it on the tent fabric. I had to use the magnet to hang it off a center tent poll

3.0 out of 5 stars The Jury's still out..., January 29, 2008
Well gee, what can you expect from a battery operated plastic fan for use in a tent? I bought one last year for a week long bicycle/camping trip across Iowa (RAGBRAI) and, for the first few days, it worked fine. Keep in mind, it gives you a gentle breeze - not a blast - so when it was really hot and humid (most of the evening) it didn't seem to help much but as soon as the temperature started dropping a little bit it was nice - and I would usually wake up sometime in the early early morning and turn it off because it had become too cool. It's fairly quiet, the light is very nice - I used it often when groping around for stuff - having it hanging directly above me made it easy to find in a pitch black tent. I said it was good for a few days - about mid-week it quite working. New batteries still couldn't get it to keep running more than a few minutes at a time. I don't know if the Iowa humidy killed it or what - I just sweat through the rest of the week and, when I got home, sent it back for a refund. I'm hoping it was a fluke problem - once it quit working I really missed it. So I am going to buy another one this spring and take it on the same ride. That should be the final test. Don't let the price lull you - those D batteries are not cheap!
