I got this adapter as a replacement for my broken headphone jack which I used to plug my speakers into.

With the adapter (Used in conjunction with my Logitech X-240 Speakers), however, there is a small, but noticeable, amount of static coming from some songs. I can't be sure as to what causes the static, but in the songs where it does occur, lowering the 8K and 16K settings in the iTunes equalizer makes most of it go away.

But, if you're like me and like loud music, you will be disappointed. Turning up the volume makes the speakers sound like they're going to blow out any second. This didn't use to happen when I didn't need the adapter.

In review: It's not terrible, but not great. Not for loud music fans.

Needed to buy this after the microphone jack from my laptop broke. It's easy to use (just plug it in) and the sound I get on the headphone is very good. However, the sound recorded from the microphone has quite a bit of background noise and I am told that I'm hard to understand when making phone calls through Skype since there are some 'clicking' noises (could be some interference with other laptop components?). But for less than 10$ it's ok (would have spent 4 times as much in a store).

My dad gave me a hand me down Compaq N620c Laptop and i discovered the built in laptop speakers did not work. Then i discovered it was also a SHORTAGE in the headphone jack! Eventually that went out and i ran to Amazon to look for a CHEAP usb sound card i could pay for with my $7 gift card balance and this was the only product i found.

Low and behold it finally came, plugged it in and was real dissapointed by the amount of STATIC even when the volume was at it's lowest. I even tried to minimize the Static using Windows Media Players Equalizer & WOW settings. I couldn't get it to give me any kind of DECENT/Near Normal Audio without sound like pure Crap no matter what i did. Don't get me wrong it worked fine, i use it sometimes to watch movies from my laptop onto my Television... but the sound is crap. I'm just thankful to have Sound PERIOD (That's why i spared it and gave it 2 stars)

Bottom line is this product has a lot of static in the sound it's very annoying. Don't even think about listening to Music. If u just need sound temporarily then.... Well, i wouldn't even recommend it for that truthfully. I'm on here searching for another usb sound device right now, and i just got it a week ago.

The term "You Get What You Pay For", Definately describes this device.
