12-Volt Litheon Batteries for Long-Lasting Power
The PS20-2A gets its power from Litheon batteries, the most advanced lithium-ion batteries available today. These batteries allow more battery charges and provide longer runtime with no memory effect--meaning the batteries don't need to be empty before charging. The batteries can also be taken out of the charger before charging is complete.

Other benefits include: significantly less self discharge; electronic cell protection that guards against overheating, overload, and deep discharge; and no loss of power from the first to last screw or hole. Best of all, these batteries will fully charge in 30 minutes and will be at 85% capacity in just 15 minutes.

I couldn't get my drill into a very tight spot, so I ordered the new Bosch 12 Volt PS10-2A Impact Driver. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The drill fit into the tight spot and had plenty of power to drill the holes through some pretty tough laminate flooring material and on into the plywood subfloor. I own a Bosch portable table saw and a Bosch sander, and I am also very happy with their performance.

I gave this product only 3 stars because after purchasing a PS10-2A (12v) version of this tool I observed that it uses the same batteries and charger as the PS10-2 (10.8v) version. If you go to the Bosch site it does not even have any information about the discontinued 10.8v version. I called Bosch customer service and was told that other than the labeling these tools are in fact one in the same. The Bosch rep asserted that the 10.8v tool was under rated and a decision was made to relabel the 10.8v tool to 12v and sell it as the 12v Max. My opinion is that this is deceptive by Bosch. If you are in the market find a cheaper 10.8v. It is the exactly the same tool as the 12v tool! Read the specs...exactly the same for both!

The pros are the compact head, variable speed and the 2 batteries.

The cons are the thing is FAT making the switch between forward and reverse is awkward. There is no safety switch to keep the tool from being switched on if its hit by something in the tool bag. And the minimum torque is not that minimum. Its quite a bit of torque before the electronic clutch kicks in.

I will keep it but would not buy it again until some of the quirks are worked out.
