Some family music calls for cranking the volume and rocking out. Renee & Jeremy's calls for sitting cross-legged on the floor à la preschool circle time. Gentle is this pair's guiding principle--they will be your moon, as they sing on "Night Mantra," and as they prompt you, or your Cinderella-nightgown-clad 3-year-old, to close your eyes on "Falling Star Lullaby," they will kindly point out that love will always be there, and so will they ("let the rhythm remind you," goes the harmony). Reinforcement of this kind rarely comes in a package so palatable: Renee Stahl's voice is a lovely instrument that takes on shades of Cowboy Junkie Margo Timmons' at times, and Jeremy Toback's is rock-solid and frills-free. Together, they craft music that doesn't try too hard but measures up beautifully. --Tammy La Gorce

I generally save CD-specific comments for my columns, but I've gotta say this: Renee & Jeremy's It's a Big World is flat-out gorgeous. Warm, sweet, at-times haunting. Beautiful. Go get it. Now. No matter what your age.....This cd is wonderful! renee & jeremy's voices are soothing and the songs are sweet & inspiring... I listen to it all the time (especially when I am feeling the stresses of everyday life) It brings me so much peace . listening reminds me of the lightness and innocence that is inside all of us.

a friend has Great Big World on her myspace page, and I loved it...after listening to the rest of the songs, I am so glad to hear it is on Itunes!

Listening to the tracks on this wonderful album brings a sense of peace and envelops one in a blanket of calm. The mellifluous voice of Renee Stahl is beautiful and inspiring and blends in harmoniously with the talented voice of Jeremy Toback. The tracks are immensely soothing, and the best feature is the fact that these lullabies/ quiet time music are pleasing not just for babies and tots, but parents too.
