Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The IronKey 1 GB secure hardware-encrypted flash drive protects your data, online passwords, and Internet privacy with hardware-based encryption. Now you can safely carry your digital files with you wherever you go and surf the Web privately through almost any network--even across unsecured wireless hotspots. Furthermore, the IronKey is optimized for speed and designed to be waterproof and tamperproof. The IronKey Cryptochip uses hardware-based encryption, which is faster, more secure, and easier to use (no software or drivers to install) than software-based encryption.

Although it employs advanced military-grade security, it is a cinch to use and requires only a password to unlock it. Manage all of your online accounts and passwords in one place with direct access and protection against keystroke-logging spyware and other online threats. If Cryptochip detects any physical tampering by a thief or a hacker, it will self-destruct. And if your IronKey is ever lost or stolen, you can easily restore your lost data and passwords to a new IronKey.

Product Description

The IronKey, designed to be the world's most secure flash drive, protects your data, on-line passwords, and Internet privacy. Now you can safely carry your digital life with you wherever you go - with confidence and peace of mind. While it uses advanced security technologies previously only available to government agents and other secret operatives, it is simple to use and requires only a password to unlock it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great solution for secuing portable files, September 4, 2007
By D. Rogers "Inkblots" (Fort Dodge, IA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have been searching for a solution to my need for security of very large number of confidential files, that I really need to carry with me much of the time. Iomega Jazz and then Zip worked very well, but they keep changing hardward and don't update the software, and I am tired of buying all new portable drives for all my computers.

But this product is great, and it has the convenience of a flash drive, th security of a really good, open source encryption program, and good, simple, basic software for dealing with it all. Plus a very good web site for storing and changing passwords and security information.

This is a great, reliable, and reasonably priced solution. I am 100% happy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, April 21, 2008
First time I've done a review here but wanted to put a good word in for this product. I bought this to secure my passwords and other important files that I need to carry around. It has worked without a hitch and lives up to all of the promises on the Ironkey web site. (Well, I haven't tested the self destruct feature fortunately.) The secure sessions service is very cool and the fact that you don't need admin rights on the client computer is a big plus. I considered just using something like TrueCrypt for securing my files but it doesn't provide the security of hardware encryption. Highly recommended!

The Ironkey works exactly as described by the companies video. This small creation has simplified my life if for nothing else by securing and organizing all the passwords one gathers over time. It's simple, secure and reliable.
