Scottish new wavers Altered Images formed in early 1979, consisting of vocalist Clare Grogan, guitarist Tony McDaid, drummer Tich Anderson, and bassist Johnny McElhone. The teenagers cut a demo and sent it to Siouxsie and the Banshees, who were impressed enough to have the band open for them for several dates in support of their Kaleidoscope record. Product Description

2007 double CD comp from the Scottish Post-Punk/New Wave/Pop band. Despite their Punk roots Altered Images epitomize a period in UK Pop that came at the start of the '80s. Punk, new wave, two-tone and a short-lived mod revival in the second half of the previous decade had all been rather serious so when Altered Images brand of fun-filled pop danced out of the nations radios it was akin to a breath of fresh air. Visually they managed to convey a kind of bubblegum-chic, thanks to lead singer Claire Grogan and an initial barrage of brightly colored picture sleeved singles and shirts! This selection features all of their hits and plenty more. 36 tracks. Music Club.
