They are batteries and they work. I don't think the industrial brand is important. Supposedly they last longer, but I haven't had mine long enough to know.

i use these for my paintball guns and gear. i go through a lot of 9V. and paint ball gun draw a lot of power and it works all day.

the little plastic caps are nice. so you don't short any of your 9V out

The batteries were desparately needed. They arrived in a day and a half and my smoke detectors were literally chirping for 2 days. I immediately installed them and they worked fine. I was so happy to see my shipment the day they arrived. The timing was perfect. The service was excellent!
