Product Description

This tape features two 30-minute NASA programs on the bold Mercury and Gemini Spacecraft Missions, spanning the years 1961-1966. AThe first, titled World Was There, cpatures the space program with people such as Shepard, and President Johnd F. Kennedy. The Mercury missions gave us our first manned flight, the first orbital flight and the determination to reach upward to the moon and beyond. Plus Legacy of Gemini The second prgram, Legacy of gemini, returns you to the years of the Gemini Spacecraft, whose missions thrust the U.S. into a new era of space exploration and helped our astronauts gain confidence for the lofty goals of the Apollo Program. Giant strides were made in space technology, including the first American space walk, docking in space, re-entry experience, and proving that man could indeed live and function in space. Total running time: 60 minutes.
