We bought this dollhouse for our daughter along with the Victorian family and nursery set because they were listed as (frequently bought together). The family and nursery specify that it is a 1:12 scale (it is the most common dollhouse size). I ASSUMED this was the scale on the dollhouse, as it did not specify a scale size. This dollhouse is indeed a 1:24 scale - the other melissa and doug furniture and items WILL NOT fit in this dollhouse. It is cute, and I decided to keep it (I guess) for myself (since I would have to eat shipping both ways and pay a 15% restocking fee). This dollhouse is better for older children (maybe 10+), as it is very small and more fragile. Overall - it's pretty cute - it's just hard to find extra pieces to fit 1:24 scale. My biggest complaint is that it was not listed as 1:24 scale size - please take this into consideration and do your research on dollhouse sizes. This would be excellant for on the go or Grandma's house.
