5.0 out of 5 stars Do these guys ever do a bad album?, December 6, 2007
By Stephanie L (Oklahoma) - See all my reviews
This is an excellent album. I don't like buying singles and my computer doesn't load fast so I didn't get to hear hardly any of it before it came out. The whole thing blew me away. It's not too often that I buy a CD and end up loving almost every song on it. Seventh Heaven is easily my favorite. One of those few songs that I would get up and dance to, and I don't even like dancing. And I have to say that Ken did an excellent job on Pretty Girl. I could go on about how I like nearly all of them but I'm going to let you judge for yourself. This is a must have for any L'arc en Ciel fan. Well worth it! The guys really out did themselves with this album and I think it's their best one so far.

5.0 out of 5 stars In the long tradition of great L'arc alblums...., December 17, 2007
Heres the basic rundown of L'arc-En-Ciel's new CD "Kiss".. First off a little about myself, Ive been a fan of L'arc for over 7 years now and that still makes me a newbie. But as far as Japanese music goes they are my favorite band. I loved the direction they have gone over the years and also how they still kept their essence. If Hyde did not sing on the record their sound would still be indistinguishable from their contemporary peers. You would spot their style and say "that sounds like L'arc." This new effort does not dissapoint the new and the old fans alike. This alblum is great but to me it seems like a collection of b-sides.. more than a strait alblum but all the songs are great reguardles. Anywho ill stop rambling on, some songs to check out are:

1: Seventh Heaven, Its a very fast driving song keeps a beat pounding and keeps pushing. Catchy and fun!
2: Pretty Girl, For some reason I keep this song on repeat, It has a great hook by ken and I just can't get it out of my head... My favorite song so far!
3: My heart draws a dream, Very classic sounding song, ken keeps that drawn out lead on his strat. Sounds like U2 like most of their early stuff.
6: Alone in la vida, A slow song sounding like a mix of Dune and something off Awake. This melodic song has that spanish guitar work ken sometimes implements into his music, with multi layered pianos and guitars.
7: Daybreaks Bell, The big hit off this alblum.. if you watch the new Gundam series you will see this song showcased and its probably why your interested in this CD to begin with. Great catchy song that will get stuck in your head.
10: Link, no its not a ode to Zelda but this catchy song screams the essence of what L'arc is with layers of strings upbeat lyrics and hooks. Yet another reason to get this CD!
12: Hurry Xmas, I can't really explain why I love this song but I keep playing it. It reminds me more of Hyde's solo work. Its not just a Christmas song by the way, Ill be listening to it in the spring to come :)

I hope I gave you some reason to get this alblum, Although it does not really break any new grounds with L'arc its an awesome showcase of their talents. I only wish Americans could appreciate this music more. Because it is far better than the uninspiring rubbish thats flaunted over our airwaves. Anyways thanks for reading and thank you L'Arc for another steller alblum! -Andrew Warber USN

5.0 out of 5 stars And they keep on making smashes, December 17, 2007
The guys from "L'Arc-En-Ciel just keep on gracing us with fantastic music, songwriting and singing on their newest release "Kiss". As a group its hard to really to describe just how much that i love their music and how it affects me. I went from not having heard of them before to buying two of their cds after hearing "Ready, Steady, Go" on Fullmetal Alchemist. I normally only get one of a cd on an artist that i dont know. But with them i couldnt help but fall for all that they offer. I believe with "Kiss" this is the 5th or 6th L'Arc-en-ciel cd that i've bought in the past few months.

I never grow tired of the guys and everything that's on this cd. It is top notch from "Seventh Heaven" to "Pretty Girl" and "My Heart Draws A Dream". Each and every song just draws you in and takes you for a ride. It might sound crazy and everything, but i normally dont spend this amount of money on a cd at all. But with "Kiss" i dropped down that money with a quickness already knowing that what i was purchasing would be another notch on the long and impressive musical career that is L'Arc-En-Ciel.

So purchase this cd without fail and you'll find out exactly what a lot of folks already know. L'Arc-En-Ciel is an excellent and long standing group on the scene that holds nothing back and gives its all on every track. America stand up and take notice the guys are back so hop on this musical express. Believe me it doesnt stop til the cd is over.
