I bought this cable through Amazon and have used on my TV as well as played music through the aux. audio jacks on a Bose wave radio/CD player. These cables are being used on the iPod Touch. It played wonderfully through both. I plugged it in to a Panasonic HDTV LCD TV and the movies looked crystal clear. The only downside is the cable jacks themselves. They are smooth cylinders which makes it difficult to unplug because there is nothing substantial to grip. They might be pleasing to the eye, but that's a poor design choice.

Until the most recent incarnation of the iPod, you could use any company's composite video cable to stream video or pictures from your iPod to your TV. I got a great cable on Amazon for my 5.5G iPod to do just this not long ago, and paid about $15 for it. Apple, however, now requires an "authentication chip" on the cable, otherwise the iPod "Classic" will not stream to TV. Only Apple and "Apple authorized" cables--which will sell for about $50--can now be used. Oh, the cable comes with a USB charger? Big f#@*&!g deal: I can hook my iPod to my computer and charge it or put it in my JBL speakers. If I wanted another charger, I'd buy another charger. But if you just want a cable to view your movies and pictures, sorry, that will now cost you about $50.

I love Apple's computers, and would never buy a PC, but this is just simple, stupid greed. Apple has been on a mission to kill proprietary video and music formats, so why the hell is it requiring a proprietary chip to allow its latest iPods to stream content? Simple, stupid greed.

1) It's too expensive for what you get!
2) The AV connectors are cool looking and solid, but hard to pull off since they're so narrow and sleek.
3) Make sure that if you're going to hook the Audio cables to a receiver and the Video cable to the TV that they're close together, otherwise you're going to need extension cables.
4) I didn't realize this till buying the cables, but when you download a movie from iTunes, it chops the sides off. For example, I bought Ironman, but the title when displayed on a wide screen tv (no matter what aspect I chose) was "ronman". Not the cables fault, but didn't realize that till bought the cables.
5) If you're going to use the cables along with the charger, make sure there's a plug outlet close enough, otherwise, once again, you're going to need an extension cord.
