Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Water is indeed everywhere—especially bottled water. High-end restaurants now have water lists in addition to wine lists, water bars are opening up around the globe, and gourmet markets are selling dozens of different varieties of domestic and imported bottled waters. Consumers are beginning to recognize that bottled water, like wine, has a unique identity that is defined by its origin. Fine Waters introduces readers to the epicurean delights of water, sharing the ins and outs of the characteristics that provide various waters with their unique flavors, as well as recommendedfood pairings, stemware suggestions, and optimum serving temperatures for enjoying both still and sparkling waters. The book also provides tasting notes for more than 100 of the world's best bottled waters. Produced in full color, with photographs throughout, Fine Waters is the first guide to this up-and-coming food trend. --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars A "Sparkling" Book, June 23, 2009

Such vitriol from other reviewers! I think this a fun book if you're into bottled waters like me. The best bottled water I ever tasted was Badoit in Paris. One of the finest mineral waters plus rare outside of France. Lots of fun facts, history, minerality, and origin. Makes a nice addition to any cooking or bar book.

If you have an interest in premium bottled waters, this book is a must. However, it does not inlcude some brands that are also very good. I guess you can't inlcude them all...

You may have heard the saying "its just water"..??
Well, Fine Waters: A Connoisseur's Guide to the World's Most Distinctive Bottled Waters will change your views and understanding of the many sources, tastes and characteristics of good old H2O.
Just as you select a particular wine to match that perfect meal once you read this book you will be more aware next time you buy a bottle of water.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in matching food and wine! A refreshing read!

1.0 out of 5 stars You have got to be kidding
Bottled water is a joke. The plastic bottles are toxic and landfill clutter. Fine European resturants serve tap to the locals and expensive water to the Americans. Read more
