Assembly is fairly easy although the instructions aren't the greatest. It seems strong and well-built. The shelves are glass and completely opaque. I will note that it came with two sets of the shelf separator rings, black and chrome. (The example photo shows the chrome.) Both types are plastic, and they're both kind of cheap-looking up-close, but it wasn't a big deal once it was all together. Finally, one of the bullet points indicates that the shelves are adjustable. Each level has four of the black tubes that hold it all together, and each set is a different length so the shelf space gets smaller from bottom to top. The only adjustment you can make is to put the sets in a different order or to eliminate the shelves entirely. (So it's not four long tubes that the shelves slide onto and you can adjust any way you want, it's 16 tubes plus the 4 feet.)

I anguished many days, sometimes buying on line is an adventure. Well, I took a chance, the pictured looked like what I wanted, however the picture was, um, well.....it sucked! To my surprise, the unit is way nicer than I expected. Weighed a ton on delivery, I felt bad for ups guy. Easy assembly, and very happy with build. Really a solid and sharp looking unit. Delivery was fast, I am VERY pleased! Looks great in my tv room.
