THEY WILL be coming out with the extended edition blue-ray. It looks like they are doing the exact same thing as with the DVD, they released the original theatrical versions on DVD, which I bought ALL 3 of, ended up buying the full extended edition box set and giving the 3 theatricals to my sister... HAHA Peter Jackson, no such luck this time. The link above is the link to the Sign-up for the notification of the Extended Edition release. Im assuming it will just take an extra couple months waiting... but hey its worth it. You all know you want to watch all 12 or whatever hours of LOTR in high def, lol... on second thought. ha just kidding but seriously dont waste your money, go to this link and sign up for the notification. Come on now New Line,stop doing this to us,with blu ray you can put BOTH Theatrical and Extended Cuts on one Blu each with space to spare! and have a disc or two of suppilments as well,that's the way IT should be done! Give me a vote if you agree! I guess New Line knows that it's LOTR so it can release these multiple times on BLU and fans will buy! The 5 stars is for the films themselves,not what New Line is doing to the fans! GIVE US LOTR/BLU-RAY FANS WHAT WE DESERVE!!! TRUE FANS CHERISH BOTH VERSIONS!!! AFTER ALL PETER JACKSON'S KING KONG FROM 2005 HAD BOTH THEATICAL & EXTENDED VERSIONS ON IT'S BLU RAY FROM UNIVERSAL,THEY DID IT RIGHT,EVEN THOUGH THE EXTRAS COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER,I AS FAN WAS HAPPY!!! As we plainly see,this is New Line's biggest "Cash Cow"(MOOOOO!),and there gonna keep on "milking it"!!!

pure double-dip(x2). i've already bought both reg. dvd versions. now, they want me to buy both blu-ray versions too? no way! the reg extended version looks good enough for me to hold out and wait until new line does it right. this kind of business practice has to stop. hey, LOTR is on TNT in HD almost once a month anyway. that'll keep holding me over.....
