My video shows why I am returning this product. I couldn't record the product in actual use because I never got that far, it broke before I even got it out of the box. It didn't match our wood color either, I may go with the cherry version though. Hope this helps.

Originally, when I purchased this item it was $59.99. The item arrived in a timely manner thought the shipping box was damaged in the corner. The gate was in good shape, though.

Pros:
-Solid wood
-Fairly sturdy design

Cons:
-The foot spacer is a tripping hazard
-The wall support bars may damage wall board
-The wall supports need to be tightened often

Although I have more cons than pros listed, I would still purchase this item as a pet gate. I do not think it is sturdy enough to be a child proof gate on stairs.

The first gate I purchased had 2 'dings' in the wood. I called Summer and they sent out another one. One of the panels was split so I called again. They sent out another one. This one was machined poorly and the latch did not meet the wood correctly. I called again to update Summer. The customer service they gave me was excellent but their quality control is bad. In the end I kept the first one because the dings are not too noticeable and this is the nicest looking gate out there. It looks like a piece of furniture!
