Yes, one could argue that this is more of a strong box than a safe. That being said, the unit is very sturdy and has the best build quality of anything that I've seen at this price point. The other safes I checked out looked at lot flimsier.

Sentry says that this is a 5 gun (rifle) case. However, if you happen to have larger scopes attached to your riles, that capacity is almost halved. In my case, it stores 3 scoped rifles nicely.

Shelf is also a tad too low for my 24" barreled rifle. This was solved with a quick modification. I hot glued 9" x 1.5" wood strips just above each of the original shelf rails. This gives me the increased shelf height and allows me to slide the shelf all the way to the back of the safe. Perfect!

I just recieved this safe, while SAFE might be a strong word to use for this..i would rather call it a "STRONG BOX" strong boxes are nice, and can serve their use. The construction seems pretty durable and if you bolt it to the wall AND Floor this thing is not going anywhere.

THe lock "seems" strong and resistant to an attack, but i cant put it to the test.
Sentry has delievered a very good quality strong box here. I saw in the photo what it was, i knew what i was getting. I can honestly tell you that next year sometime i will buy a higher end sentry safe with a fireproof system and electronic lock..but this will easly do for now.

The price is right. It meets the legal requirements for a gun safe. I could not make it a 5-star only because I was expecting a little bit more shelf room for the accessories and ammo.
