Rumeur by Lanvin Eau De Parfum 3.3 oz, June 25, 2007
What a a beautiful bottle and enticing scent. My other favorite perfumes are Black Orchid by Tom Ford and For Her by Narciso Rodriguez-so if you like either of those you will LOVE LOVE LOVE Rumeur!

I just absolutely love this., March 18, 2008
My wife got this in a sample from a "goodie bag" and man, it does everything for me. She will spray it on in the morning and even by evening she's still smelling beautiful. I don't know what is in it that makes my heart beat faster it's just great.

Don't Judge This Perfume Immediately...., May 5, 2009
I ran across Rumeur in the local mall on a clearance table. I sprayed this scent and could have sworn I was an ENT doctor because it smelled like a combination of ear wax and that brown stuff they put on people during surgery. Yuck!!! Next to this scent was Rumeur 2 and that was just plain better smelling.
So I return to the mall a month later and Rumeur 2 was not to be found on the clearance table.... just Rumeur- what horror! I spritzed some on my wrist anyway, phew it smells like cheap perfume found in little girls makeup kits. So I went to find something more alluring. I tried Juicy, DKNY, Mello, etc. My favorite was Juicy but it was at a price I wouldn't buy. But after all of my shopping, you know what the Rumeur actually smelled pretty nice!!!! It smelled like a toned down, less sweet, slightly more musky version of Juicy. That took me by surprise.
This is a white rose smelling perfume with some slight woodiness to it, but not much. The initial smell can be overbearing and cheap, but it then dries down after 2 minutes or so and you then get something sweet and mellow with a white rose to it. After this phase it can start smelling similar to a fresh soapy floral scent, but not too soapy. Sometimes it has a sweet patchouli scent to it if you happen to spritz it on your clothes.
There's magnolia, white roses, jasmine sambac, seringa, orange blossom, lilly of the valley, patchouli, musks, and ambroxan.
Everyone's body chemistry is different and will affect the notes of the perfume differently. I find this to be a very unique and complex perfume. Its definitely not Armani Code where its simple and eventually can be flat and boring as time goes on. With this perfume as the day goes on it becomes more complicated. My boyfriend calls it a subtle scent. I think it has the maturity of Jadore but a slightly more subtle presence. It has staying power and will stay with you all day. Its a wonderful office scent and a romantic evening scent, it catches one off guard because its not an in-your-face-boom scent (other than the initial spritz). Its one of the first perfumes where I find the scent is a part of me, someone described this as a scent that seems like the woman makes when she sweats- it becomes that much a part of you. At one point of the day I stepped out of work and into the outdoors and "Voila" this scent picked up again with different smells and it was prominent and beautiful. Its such a beautifully, intelligent, and complex scent.
I love this scent because its so unique and very Victorian with its white rose allure. Its not really sweet but its not really musky either. Its subtle like a rumor. My only concern is that I think its not going to be found in stores anymore with so many stores having this product on sale everywhere. I think I may pick up another 3.3 oz bottle.
Oh, speaking about the bottle... the packaging is awesome. That is an even bigger plus. Its not hard to get the top off and once its placed back on its quite secure.
