Magnification 100 and 300 works fine even in low light. 450, 600, and 900 needs a very bright light to really see anything. Focusing is pretty hard and takes a lot of patiences with the higher magnifications.
If you can change the webcam to a high quality one, this would be pretty good.

I purchased this for my classroom. It was virtually impossable to fine focus this thing. Could not get a clear view.

Instalation was easy, and took less than five minutes to install and set up. The software is simple to understand and does not require any "tweaking" to get up and running. The image quality is good, but definitely not HD. The components are not sturdy, so I wouldn't recomend this microscope for young children. Also, it has glass slides that could break easily. Great for middle or high school students.
