4.0 out of 5 stars Seeking God's will for our lives will result in fruitful lives., January 13, 2009
By Daniel Spratlin (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
After bursting onto the scene in 2005, The Afters' follow-up is a smart, layered success. Song topics include a desire to move forward in our relationship with God ("Never Going Back to OK"), finding Christ ("Falling Into Place"), and making the most of every day ("One Moment Away"). I'm likely one of the few people who doesn't like the hit song "Myspace Girl" -- it doesn't fit the album. But the rest is well worth checking out.

1.0 out of 5 stars 2nd Album REAL Disappointment, June 25, 2008
As a street team member and real lover of this bands first album, I counted the days until the new release and then bam, my heart was broken. The title track is the only song worth listening to. Never going back to ok is the only song worthy of the bands creative lyrics and sound. The rest of the album is the usual we have to sound like everyone else, CCM or bust! It is so terrible that all the new Alternative Christian Bands and Worship albums all sound the same, like something that fell out of Third Day's washing machine!
I tried desperately to listen to the cd one more time but couldn't make it through. I just have to hope they get the conformity out of their system and survive to make a third album. If it isn't good then it's over. Such a shame because their first release was the first cd ever that I actually love every single song. I guess that is to hard to top.

5.0 out of 5 stars All songs ROCK, February 26, 2008
I had the opportunity to hang out w/ The Afters band one week prior to the release of this album. I was honored to have a sneak peek and hear all the songs and hear the stories behind the songs. This band is listed as a Christian Rock Band, and I am not a Christian, so this is not what draws me to them. They are deeply feeling men who love their families and their children and their faith! Each song has a nice beat and a catchy chorus without being too pop 40 sounding. Myspace girl is a true story and that is the most tongue and cheek song on the album. Every song is good. These guys are going to go FAR with their clean, honest and wonderful heart that is felt on this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Waardige opvolger van debuutalbum
Het kwartet The Afters rond Josh Havens heeft een waardige opvolger voor I Wish We All Could Win (2005) uitgebracht. Pakkende pop/rockdeuntjes, rijp voor de radio. Read more

In spite of the title, The Afters really did go back to OK.

This is a decent pop album. It has a good sound, but there is not much that stands out. Read more
