nice add-on to pioneer avh-p4000dvd. recevies both HD and non-HD FM signals. the $50 mail-in rebate from HD Radio even made this accessory a real deal. thanks pioneer!

i bought this for my AVIC-D3 with the intention to upgrade to the new F90, once i got around to it. It comes with everything required, 2 power connectors and the i-bus cable. as i already had the sirius module(xm one on its way!) i just tapped into the power cables from the sirus module and chained in the ibus. it took in total about 10 minutes. 2 words of warning, 1) if you want to still use the standard FM and AM tuners of the head unit, you will require an antenna splitter. 2)if you have the module displayed on the head unit, but no sound, you have put the i-bus cables in the wrong way round!

Finally, i have upgraded to the AVIC-F90BT and this gives a much better user interface to the HD radio. With the AVIC-D3, you only get the EXT1 interface but with the F90 you get the same interface as standard FM, just a small observation, but i liked it a lot more. Fuctionality wise, there is no difference between the D3 or the F90BT

I bought this to use with my Pioneer AVIC-D3 navigation. It works as advertised, as an external device so it is not perfect, but is easily usable from the AVIC touchscreen. The presets are stored by number only for reference but you cannot store a HD2 station. If you do it tunes to the HD1 station and you have to tune up manually to HD2. The HD station quality is noticeably better than standard FM and when you tune it first plays FM then switches to HD in a few seconds. The digital text broadcast is only 8 characters but is usable. If you listen to a lot of FM radio and want to get extra HD stations then you'll need a HD tuner. This is a good solution for adding that to your existing radio. I'd like to see it at a lower price however.
