Insides Out is the debut solo album from Jordan Zevon (son of Warren Zevon and Tule Livingston). Dive straight in, get past making comparisons to his father s music, then indulge yourself on the Jordan s glorious mix of rock/pop inspired by XTC, Elvis Costello and the New Radicals.

Jordan simply describes his sound by saying, It s organic rock/pop. Something I always told my Dad to stick with. I hated when he used synthesizers and drum machines.

The first track The Joke s On Me co-written with pal Jordan Summers was the winner of the 2006 USA Songwriting contest. Knowing it is time to get serious about his future, Jordan enlisted help from his long time friends to help create and complete Insides Out. Along with stand out tracks such as This Girl and American Standard , Jordan does one cover. It is Studebaker one of his father s unreleased gems.

Insides Out is a stunning debut that captures 11 perfectly crafted American rock songs, that is if you like smart lyrics and catchy guitar riffs all drenched in sublime harmonies.

I am a long time fan of Warren Zevon. I worried that his son may end up sounding like his father (a fate he would have shared with Julian Lennon, who is a fine singer/songwriter, but gets no credit for it because he sounds so eerily like his father). However, JZ's album is full of great pop songs, more Beatleseque than anything. Vocally he sounds very little like Warren. He does share his father's way with a snappy lyric. One reviewer said he sounded old fashioned. Old fashioned quality is more like it. I really can't get this album out of my CD player. It is fantastic.

I picked this CD up while in NYC when it debuted and didnt have a CD player with, I couldnt wait to get back home to listen to it and was not dissappointed. What can I say Warren Zevon has left a wonderful legacy behind. Jordan Zevon follows in the talents of his father. This album is unlike anything you have ever heard, much like his father's album. It is unfortunate that the record company does not promote this album more as it outdoes any music I have currently heard. But then again that is the same fate as his father suffered. That never stopped him coming back with more and I hope the same with Jordan Zevon. When is his tour?!?!?!?!

Power-pop fans should love this exceptional debut CD from Jordan Zevon. It's loaded with great melodies and clever wordplay. If you saw him on Letterman a couple of months back, you know that he delivers a great live performance, too. If you want to get in on the ground floor of a great career, order "Insides Out" -- you'll be able to impress your friends with your great discovery!
