I've used this charger regularly for the past several months to charge AA & AAA batteries. You can charge 1 2 3 or 4 batteries. Each battery has it's own indicator to tell you when it's done- and then it's charging bay turns off so you don't overcharge. I have to recharge batteries in my house several times / week, and because of these features, I have stopped using all other charges in my house.

Tired: This charger cannot be used as battery tester - from the writeup it looked like it could- it will not tell you the charge left on a non-rechargeable battery. At one point the charger stopped working, and all the indicators were flashing, about a week later I tried it again and everything was working normally. Minor inconveniences: 1. the metal contacts for the AAA batteries are delicate and bend easily- therefore I don't encourage my young children to use it. 2. you have to look dead on at the front indicator, otherwise you can't read the display

I liked this so well that I bought 2 more as gifts! The batteries were supposed to be precharged. I ended up recharging them as soon as they arrived, but so far they are holding their charge quite well. I'd been wanting a battery tester, and this one is so easy to use. I highly recommend it.

The reconditioner is a very handy feature to extend battery life, and it comes with 2700 MAh batteries, which are nice compared to competitors. I agree with the other reviewer that the display needs to be viewed fairly straight-on, and also that the AAA connectors can bend. However, I found these to be relatively minor drawbacks. I did find the displays could be used as basic battery testers, though the displays only show 4 levels (4 LEDs per battery slot).
With the reconditioner function, I would heartily recommend over competitors that lack this feature.
