I bought this to be an enclosure for a hard drive from a laptop which was about to crash.
It arrived on my doorstep within about 4 days of placing the order.
It took me all of about 5 minutes to get it out of the box, take my hard drive out of the laptop, and put it in this device.
I think I spent longer looking on the floor when I dropped screws than I did putting it together.
I had to figure out to take the brackets off the harddrive that held it into the laptop, of course (otherwise it would not fit into this.)
Once I got it all into place, I took it to the desktop and plugged it into the USB slot, and it immediately recognized it.
No Problems. You know with this that you are not getting something put out by a known brand name, but it still does what I needed it to do. I think in the future this could be easily used as a portable hard drive. I dont know how well it will function over time, but as a device for salvaging information, it is highly affordable and works great.
Don't expect any help with actually putting the thing together, most of the instructions I found in the box seemed to be for software, not hardware issues.

I would still recommend this.
