Those Cannons Could Sink a Ship

Biography

Give a band a second album and they’ll build you a city.

For their sophomore effort, and their first with new label Fearless Records, post-hardcore outfit A Skylit Drive have crafted a sweeping, innovative narrative with Adelphia. Born from the mind of guitarist Joey Wilson, this fictional, frozen metropolis was created to push the notions of what the band could achieve, and to reach a new level… Read more in Amazon's A Skylit Drive Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, November 5, 2008
By Taryn (Nebraska) - See all my reviews
I really liked this album; I first found their EP and I liked it, so I thought I'd get the new one. There is good variety on this album, I think. Screamo/hardcore has never been so good. The new vocalist is very talented.

4.0 out of 5 stars Please enter a title for your review, June 5, 2008
this is like the first fashioncore pop-screamo album i've ever liked. i didn't even like these guys' ep of last year at all. this album is like the follow-up Finch should have made to their 2002 debut What It Is To Burn. what makes these guys so much better than all their black hair dyed peers; the drummer does a lot of fills, the vocals have a lot of great double tracked harmonies, the overproduction actually seems to work in favor of the dual guitar arrangements, and there's a keyboardist in there somewhere. the metalcore breakdowns add some diversity but also make the band seem more cliched and the screamy vocals typically smack of effort but the songs progress fast enough for it to not be too much of a detraction.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the EP
This cd is not as good as their EP. Really not much else to say- they have sort of ruined their sound. It's not bad, but not great.
